Why didnt we go for 2 after the blotched extra point ?even later in the game we had chances to go for to to bring it back to a 10 point game and we never did... ,also while im venting,to me there is no excuse for 3 delay of game penalties....

b/c if we don't make it it's only a 1 possession game....and we didn't have an issue with penalties the first 3 games

Because if we didn't get it, it would only have been an 8 point lead, meaning they could have tied it in one possession.

There were many bad playcalls in that game, but that wasn't one of them.

on the last 2 TDs, if we go for 2 and don't get it, we'd have only been up 8 and it woulda been a 1 possession game.

agree...I would not have enough faith in our offense at this point in time to call for 2

So if MSU got the couple inches they needed, how do you feel then?

If we go for it and don't get it we lose by 2, which is just as bad as losing by 1. If we do make it though, tie game.

I think it was a bad call to not try for it on one of our 3 other touchdowns. It should have cost us the game. Ask Texas Tech, it DID cost them last night.

If you really believe this then you don't understand the game of football.

So if MSU got the TD, you still feel that way? Do you want LSU to lose?

this might be hard to believe, but our red zone O is worse than the regular O

This.

Fortunately there is a card for that and it's pretty "idiot-proof".

Even so, it makes no difference if we are up by 5 or 6. A TD still wins. If MSU's coach wasn't a moron by not giving it to Dixon, we lose by that missed PAT. Luckily it's a moot point since they didn't get it, but it was just that... LUCK.

Because we couldn't pick up 2 and a half yards in the red zone to save our lives.

But at that point we were only up by eight. You can't speculate on knowledge that they didn't have at the time. For example, let's say we go for two after the punt return and don't get it.

Now we are only up 29-21. The whole game could have turned out completely different. What if MSU, on the drive where they kicked the field goal (30-24), had decided to go for it on fourth down (knowing they could potentially tie the game) and gotten the TD and the 2-point conversion? Now lets say we go on and lose in overtime in that situation... Everyone would probably be calling for Miles' head because he went for two instead of making it two possession game.

Bottomline, not going for two was the smart call. There isn't really much question about it.
