Ruston 23 Sulphur 7.
Junior RB Jaren Johnson ran for 181 yds on 19 carrier with 2 tds. The Ruston defense was just to quick and limited Sulphur to just 52 yds on the ground, while the Ruston offense gained 262 yds on the ground and controlled the clock. Looks like Ruston will be a major contendor in 4A as the team seems to get better each week and now has 3 wins over 5A schools and will have some serious power points. Johnson put on a show and is a legit D1 prospect... Now, as for the Sulphur fans, they were awesome and great hosts! I had brisket, boudin, and boudin balls in the press box and the people I met were just fantastic.

We'll their defense didn't do so well last night as Ruston had over 400 yards of offense and 3 ints by Ruston kept the score down. Ruston, Lutcher and Neville should make for an interesting 4A

Don't forget Salmen. They lost on a blocked PAT in OT to John Curtis.

They have a HUGE fan base. I really enjoyed playing there in my football days.

I also like how the track is seperate from the football field allowing the stands to be closer to the field. It was a great experience and very similar to the one I had at Fountainblue a few years back

Yeah, that was in '98, when Ruston had Kyle Williams and Jack Hunt
