That's an ugly looking stat,
Looking at SEC stats, we are not very impressive in any categories, we are certainly winning "ugly". Let's just hope for continued improvement every week.
Need to put a whoopin on State

KO returns have not been very good. Also, some time back I looked at last years stats, T.H. was 39th in the nation.

thats because they dont kick the ball to TH except once a game and the kicker kicks it so high by the time returner catches he goes 5 yards and 1st wave of defenders are there

1) Its early in the season, and outside of the Washington game, we've gotten exactly 2 kickoffs per game in the other two matchups.
2) In all the games, most kicks have been to avoid Holiday getting a return. Hard to get returns when the other teams avoid kicking it to you.
3) Brooks got a negative return in last game for one of the two, which undoubtedly hurt our overall average.

I think we can do better than that!

Well, don't you think this could be because NO ONE seems to want to kick to TH? How many deep, returnable balls has he got? The ones that I remember turned out very well.

I looked this up earlier...our average starting position after kickoffs for the three games are 35, 37 and 29. Any team in the nation would take that. All stats must be taken within context...

I think we should be better in punt returns, but I don't think kickoff return yardage is a very good indicator of anything.
Against UW-
1st kick return: sky-kick to the 24, returned 7 yards to the 31.
2nd kick return: sky-kick to the 30, returned to the 36.
3rd kick return: sky-kick to the 34, returned to the 39.
4th kick return: sky-kick to the 28, returned to the 33.
A 6 yard return average is fine if it means starting every drive at the 35.

I think anyone posting any average this early in the season is just wasting his/her time.

Brooks looks a little lost back there. What happened to that guy

LSU's return game has been poor for years, across multiple ST Coaches and their return units.
LSU got away from jamming gunners on Punt Returns after Saban left. Also Saban used plenty of vets and starters, where Miles prefers Frosh and backups.
Bobbles, running to the wrong side/lanes, very poor and/or non-existent jamming, where's the wedge, the wall, cutback?
Even with a well-drilled team in front of you..it is a natural talent that say a Devin Hester, Skyler Green, Javier Arenas, Deion, Brian Mitchell,etc..have in making the first gunner or two miss, is critical in getting sprung.
