Cajun Fan Experiences Last Night

Apparently "Tigerbait" is crossing the line:
This guy didn't like having to walk to the stadium:
This guy didn't have fun:

The mood in the tailgating area was mostly friendly. However, there were those who heard "Tiger Bait!" one too many times.
"We just came here to tailgate, and now we're leaving," said current UL student Stephanie Goforth, a 19-year-old psychology major. "I know LSU has a good football team and everything, but keep it classy."
Goforth said she and her boyfriend had heard shouts of "Tiger Bait!" from everyone — kids, adults and students alike.
"We heard, 'Oh, it's gonna be 42-0,' and 'UL sucks,'" Goforth said. "If they came to a Cajun game, I wouldn't be yelling 'UL bait.' I understand everyone likes who they like, but keep it classy."
This guy didn't like having to walk to the stadium:

First time ever in gods temple according to oilfield workers and unsupportive UL Alumni. Tailgated at old golf course. Had a good time. Actually gave me a good view of LSU fans. They were nice, never said anything at me or against me. We were all just having a good time. Then there was the trek from tailgating to the stadium, and Im spoiled being a UL fan cause from my tailgating spot I walk up the ramp into Cajun Field, was rough but I can understand that. Then we get to the gate. Moving smoothly, ushers very helpful, very nice and courteous.
Then I got to my seats, not a bad view. Then it happened. The people started arriving. And god save the queen, this is why no one wants to go there. I had rude obnoxious children behind me kicking and dropping drinks on me and my fiance. One child yelled "Who dat say they gonna beat them tigers" over 100 times in the short time I stomached it. Some nice people had seats next to us who were split as they had kids at both schools and they were very very nice and we enjoyed their company. Then, a nascar woman and nascar man sat in front of us(guaranteed these people have never seen a college class) and just began with their schtick. The woman was loud and obnoxious and spit when she talked, which was gross. Also, Im sure Gomer Pyle, USMC was sitting in front of us. And he is a tiger fan. He called us cheaters when we were called, CALLED, for defensive holding on LSU's first touchdown. This guy had to be on the wrong side of the bell curve IQ wise. Like were Forrest Gump was.
So, this is why no one wants to go there. I was warned. I was also incorrectly informed that if you make it into the stadium without wanting to off yourself you would be ok. Complete opposite. Tailgating was fun. The stadium was like dental surgery. I have been to La Tech, I have been to Southern Miss. I have been to Houston. I would gladly go there 100 out of 100 times instead of wasting my time in that pit of a stadium ever, ever again. No more payments, I never wanna play there again. We can get the same at nicer schools. ____ tiger stadium.

I like how the last one compared his experience to Southern Miss and La Tech.
I personnally have only been to games at Bama and Auburn, and I believe the experience was no different that what people have when coming to Tiger Stadium.
If they dont like it, that leaves more tickets for real fans who want to support their team )either ours or theirs). You never hear anyone complain except when we beat them.

There's a reason for that...
That said, LSU has the best and the worst fans in college football. They shouldn't be picking on our embarrassing representatives to make themselves feel better about losing. I love ULL, but they whine like there's no tomorrow sometimes.

I watched their section a few times through the binoculars and I saw their fans clapping for our band and looking like they generally were having a good time. Most of their faces looked awestruck when the band took the field and when mike was going around the stadium.

This is true of almost every major football program. You just have to use common sense as an opposing fan (I learned the hard way in Oxford 2003 ) Think about it: tailgate near Lockett Hall in that student refugee camp. As an opposing fan, what would you expect? Or go to the Parade Grounds, Visitor's Center or the Law School. Your experience is gonna be a little different.

Does that second guy like people at all? He just about insulted every one on the planet.
Marines, Nascar fans, people with kids, etc. Sounds like he should watch football from his living room.
I love when ULL fans get pissed that LSU fans have pride in our team. It makes me laugh. We should be more like them and just not give a damn. We can all call ourselves real fans (especially when we can't sell 6,000 tickets to a game 1 hour away) because we sit in our seats and quietly reflect on the play that just happened.

Those were the fans without the huge chip on their shoulder, pre-disposed to having a miserable gameday experience.

One thing you mus realize about usl-laffy laff idiot fans (I live and work around some) is that no matter what happens, they have a huge envy of ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING LSU!! Therefore they WILL fabricate horror stories about their experiences in Baton Rouge. It's status quo for them!! That second story you have in your post is from an idiot that goes by the name of cajinhawk!! I'm pretty sure he said before the season that he was not going to attend the LSU/usl laffy laff game. Case and point with those idiots; even if they had a good time, they will go out of their way to lie and say they've had a negative experience!! Trust me on this one...95% of the usl-laffy laff fans horror stories are pure fabrcation. Check that board (raginpagin) and you'll see 'em coming out of the woodworks. Over half will not have gone to the game but yet they will pretend like the did and just make crap up!! They're sort of like a brainwashed cult!!

Oh yeah. Thanks for reminding me. I'm sure there will be horror stories of rampant tigerbaiting and people talking loud during the game. I'm sure at one point an LSU fan cheered for LSU and upset a ULL fan.
It sucks to be a loser.

Why should she, that's not their school name.

That's what happens when more than 16,431 people show up.

I would hate any stadium that it was impossible for my team to score a touchdown in.

I'll bet the car fire last night will have some kind of nasty fan story behind it

The Cajun version:
Les Miles himself locked a bunch of Cajun Fans in the car and pissed fire on it while a bunch of "NASCAR" Tiger Fans cheered him on.

Didn't hear about this. What happened?
Was it a ULL fan's car or is that just what they'll say on RaginPagin?

This was inevitable.
No body should be surprised at the clash in cultures.
If Princeton or Harvard had beena visitor to Tiger stadium , much the same sould have occurred.
You simply cannot expect a highly sophisticated fan base from a truly world class institution of higher learning to come to BR on a saturday nite and provde the refinement that our Lafayette vistors have come to expect.
In our seats I noticed many ULL fans with earphones listening to the (NY) Metropolitan Opera (Wagner's Ring Cycle), and others were accompanied by waht appeared to be domestic.
staff. I can jsut hear them talking about the course LSU fans all the accross the henderson swamp.
This game is a mismatch of cultures and should end immediately. Yale may be willing to do a home and home.

I had the misfortune of living in Lafayette about 8 years ago for a 3 year period. I never knew LSU had a rivalrly with USL, UL-L, or whatever they call themselves today. The UL-L people were rude and talked negative about Baton Rouge and LSU so much, that I developed a distaste for their university and alumni.
The Cajuns down there feel they are special and better than all, so let's leave the little people to scream in their own miserialbe pardise, as they will never learn.
They are just like you kid brother who won't shut up, so you need to punish them and don't let them play. Similar to what Skip Bertman did with the baseball team after their fans acted with so little class in the regional about 6 years ago.

What the hell then, let's give this a shot.
Everybody, all together now:
"CAJUN BAIT! CAJUN BAIT! CAJ...."
Erm....ah....right.
