Can we all agree that linebacker play has improved tremendously compared to last season?

Sheppard had a great game last night. Coleman has been one of the real bright spots over the first two weeks. Riley and Cutrera have both been solid. I'd like to see Baker get some reps at WLB (at least in blitzing situations), but overall I'm very happy with the way the LB corp has been handled.

THey are much better this year, but the D-Line has got to pick it up.

Al Woods unfortunately needs to sit down, and Nevis needs to play along side Alexander

LBs played better as a unit...If you take a second look, Sheppard missed a few key tackles and didn't get off of weak blocks...he is very athletic but needs to shed and wrap up better..with that said, performed better than UW game..

Woods has played really well. Nevis and Alexander have both benefited from Woods being doubled.

Had a couple of big hits, otherwise pretty bad. Missed tackles, poor pursuit angles (not new for him), dropped a sure INT that would have halted their only scoring drive...truthfully though, we appear at our best when Riley sits. Watching the UDub game reply, a few of the times Locker had his way with us that I blamed on Alem were because Riley was WAY our of place.

Just re-watched the 1st half. The Vandy 80 yard TD drive is basically a Kelvin Sheppard lowlight film. He missed at least 3 tackles on the RBs: juked out of his shoes and run over, he dropped a sure pick 6 and gets swallowed up by any blocker that comes near him. We could've gotten off the field early in that drive on a 3rd and 8 or 9 where they threw a simple little RB screen pass but Sheppard and taylor couldn't even put a hand on the RB.

Coleman is our only LB that can blitz or cover.

Sheppard ducks his head and hopes the offensive player runs into him.

Aggravating.

WOW. You better watch a little more closely. He runs around blocks, which explains why his tackles are 10 yards down the field.

Sheppard and Riley are proving to be the only scouting report that Derby Tigah and his daddy got right.
