14.5 point spread. This should get interesting.

I think this spread will get bigger as the week goes on. Vanderbilt is no longer the pushover that they use to be but without a proven Q.B. in front of 90K+, LSU should cover this but who knows? I thought they would have covered the spread against the Huskies like most and I was dead wrong on that one. What U say?

FACT, Les Miles, while at LSU, is terrible as a favorite, especially when laying double digits.

VTECH game, LSU was not favored by double digits. I believe (off memory) LSU was favored by 7 to 9 points.

And I don't believe LSU has been favored by double digits in a bowl game under Miles.

I dont know about this, I was crazy enough to put down some money on the Raiders winning against the Chargers on monday night, but not on LSU covering the spread. I also put some money on the skins and USC.

I've made alot of money taking LSU over MSU against the spread in the last 8 years. LSU will beat Vandy by 20+.

Wasn't last season the first bowl season for Vandy in 104 years or something? I'm torn about how to take it - are the oddsmakers saying that a winless Pac-10 team (15 straight losses, I think) is better than a SEC bowl team? Or did Vandy look that bad in the opener (how bad could they have looked crushing Western Carolina)? Or both?

Or do they think we're going to play better?

I really don't think so. Not in Tiger Stadium, in the conference and home opener. Assuming we just score 35 - Vandy hasn't scored 20 points in the last three games against LSU - and two of those were in Nashville.

Unless the offense collapses, I would say that 20 points is relatively safe, but 14 is almost a given. Vandy is much better than some of their past teams, but not enough to cover 14.

What do I know? I've been wrong before...

Vandy is insanely good against the spread. I don't know the exact record, but if you bet them every week, you would make money.

In 2007, LSU's SU record was 12-2.

But, LSU's point spread record was just 5-8-1.

LSU finished the season against the spread by dropping their last 3 against the spread and 8 of their last 10 (1 TIE = push = no bet) during the regular season, as they were favored in every contest.

Where did you find this? I have been looking for Vandy's record the last 5-years or so.
