Try and keep'em all rounded up here. There will be about 700 names on the market tomorrow. We don't need 700 threads. A good standard is that you should be able to make a case for Player _________ that you suggest being better than Player X that could be dropped. No need to throw out every name with What do you think? Do a little thinking yourself.

I'll start it off...

Andrew Walter- The Smilin' AB era was clearly needing to end by '05 to me. I was hoping they would draft him then (2nd Rd instead of Josh Bullocks). Funny thing he got his first chance after the Raiders picked up Brooks. AB performed poorly and then injured. They then drafted Jamarcus. I think he still has some good raw skills. He's been around many and some not so good teachers. The biggest negative is that the Pats didn't see him as a project. I think he has raw skills that Payton could develop versus a reclamation project like Harrington. Bottom line: Less abused miles than Joey, needs tutoring not fixing, more upside.

Leonard Pope, TE, formerly of the Cardinals may be helpful?

I saw they let him go today (Pope). I was thinking the same thing. What other TE's are being released this weekend that we could consider?

Leonard Pope - Young TE, had a lot of talent coming out of college and put up numbers his first two years, but saw a dip last year. Might have to do more with Arizona's WRs than his talent. Anyway, we need another TE.

Travis Daniels - Some starting NFL experience and could be a decent 4/5th CB. Probably better than L. Torrance and M. Jenkings right now. Also probably cheap.

Cleo Lemon - Not awesome, but decent. Would rather have a A. Woodson, B. Bomar, B. Brohm type project as the number three guy, but Lemon is better than Harrington and has been better than Walters who is no spring chicken either. Would wait to see what other QBs hit wire before going after him. IMO

Pope is nt the answer to TE. We need to talk to Houston who have a bunch of TE and talk trade.

It looks like the Pats are going to let Watson go.

Hasn't Watson been injured for the last three years?

The TE situation looks like more of a MUST pick up somebody. That position seems to warrant it's own thread.

Porter, Greer, Gay, Jenkins. If they choose to go 5 CB You could make a case for him over Torrence. Better than Jenkins is kinda irrelevant. He's a FL boy even though from LSU so it may be no real hometown attraction to him.

I imagine we'll see a lot of QBs we like more than Harrington. I'd give Cleo a shot

NOTE: It would help if it is checked whether a player has 4 years or more NFL time. If so, he is a free agent and can go where he wants. Only 1-3 year players have to be waived. The 8-8 record would put the Saints in the middle of the pecking order for grabbing waived players.

He doesn't need to be the starter. He is an athletic, BIG body that would definitely be an upgrade at backup TE.

I agree he can be a pretty good backup, especially as a blocker. The Jets released a project player today in Kevin Brock. He has good size, good measurables. I'd love to get him on the practice squad. He came in 3rd at DeFranco’s 2009 World's Strongest Athlete Contest.

I'd love to have Payton tutoring C. Daniels for a few years. I can't believe Washington would cut him considering how bad J. Campbell is.

As for T. Daniels, he's just an upgrade over Torrence and I'd feel more comfortable with him backing up Gay and Porter who have been a little injury proned.

I think the Jets picked him up, unless they cut him today.

Washington cant carry 4 QBs..Washington believes Collins is the #2 Qb (even though hes not very good). So either Brennan or Daniels have to go.

Nevermind..If i just read it right Brennan is on IR. Shocking if they cut Daniels if thats true.

I like Daniels, too. But If they cut Harrington, I dont want somebody taking a roster spot as the 3rd QB. Just sign somebody to PS and role with BRees and Brunnel. Harrington, most likely, will still be a FA if one of our QBs get hurt.
