Rich Rodriguez and his epic failure will lead Miles to his dream job within 2 years.

If he has the choice, i think he stays for a long time. Otherwise i feel he would have left already

Yeah I kinda thought if the UM gig were to come up again the offer may be a little harder to turn down.

With the way Les is recruiting now, there's no question that he'll be here in 5 years. He's already got great players committed to coming here then.

In college football, most of the time the team with the best players wins. LSU and Alabama will consistenly win the SEC West because of superior talent.

In ten years, who knows?

I'd put the over/under at four years.

eta: mainly depending on what happens at Michigan.

I say no. Within 5 years we will either start sucking or Miles will go to Michigan.

Yes, Miles is here for the long haul. He'll be a consistent 10-2 coach with a couple of seasons above that and a few below that. LSU is the place to be. I mean, it's not LSU is in a conference (i.e. Big 12, Pac-10) where a team can win 11-12 games for 5-9 years in a row.

Miles will leave when he wants not run out of town because of wins and loses. I really think since this is what he has strived to do he will stay at LSU a long time.

This year will be very important to that question. What we do,and what Michigan does. With next year having the best in-state talent La has produced in 30 years,if Miles does well this year;and locks up that talent, with the last 2 classes,OMG. Why would he leave that??

If Michigan is his dream job, he will not let it pass him by again. He has a skin on the wall. I still think he would have gone if the story was not leaked. He knew he was fricked for the SECCG, thus the BCS National Championship game , if he did not committ to LSU. Next time, Michigan will not screw it up if they really want him.

The answer will be much clearer after this season.
I don't think he will be here in five years. The demise will be not living up to expectations.

Miles likes LSU and Louisiana, in addition to his enormous salary. LSU is a powerhouse and I believe Miles wants to kick some arse.

Agreed. The timing was awful for him last time, and he would have been perceived very poorly in the media if he would have taken that job at that time. Of course, the job could come open again while LSU is in the same situation.
