Ranked as high as 9th? Are we deserving of that ranking or should we start out at 16th or 17th? I love LSU to death, but we have a lot to prove...

I think around 12 or 13 is about right which could be good because it should make players even more hungry to prove themselves

I guess only 2 yrs. removed from a NC, and great recent recruiting classes help. Somewhere in the teens seems more reasonable to me. Of course, the only value is with the BCS. KC.

who ranked 10,11 or 12 would you place ahead of LSU? We won't know anything until Vandy(maybe)meanwhile we wait like everyone waits, except FLa.

I say 5-8 is really about right. If people think we will lose some at least let us start out where our talent says we should.

How should preseason rankings be judged then? Previous year's accomplishments or scouting out the returning talent and coaches?

Everybody has a lot to prove every year. We all start 0-0. A lot of people look at rankings wrong. You can't just look at a team and say, "I think they look about like a #15." You rank the teams 1-25 in order that you think they are the best. If you don't think there are 9 teams better than LSU, that's where you put them. You say 16 or 17, but I defy you to list 17 teams that you think are better going into this season than LSU.

If you are thinking to drop LSU you need to name the schools that should be ahead of them.

simple fact, the deeper they rank the harder they play... the farther you are, the more you walk...

You people just amaze me. For the life of I do not understand people this day and time. If we get ranked in the top 10 people say we are ranked to high and if we get ranked in lower half of the standings they say they are biased against LSU. I say we are ranked where we think they are ranked everyone has an opinion and nobody has a right to say their opinion is better than theirs is. All you can do is base this year at the start from the end of last year then weigh in the factors that change from last year to this at the beginning. Then you have to waite and see how each game is played to begin to rank the teams in the order in which they should be ranked. There is nobody I mean nobody that can look at a team and this team is better than this team without something to base that decision on. You cannot use freshmen to say that one team is better this year than last year. You have to use the returning members and the number of returning members that was important to that team then you can add in the incoming players, but the key is how many are experianced and how many are not. Other than that you have to see how the teams play in the new year.

I think that we are in pretty good shape this year and I also feel that we are a top ten team to begin with. I feel until I am proven wrong that I am going to stand by the way I feel unless something happens to change things from where they are now, much like when last year Miles cut RP from the team and changed things a lot going into last year. Right now I do not farsee anything to extent happening to change things this year. I feel we are as good talent wise as anyone in the conference. We will have to see how the year plays out to see if I am wrong or not. I say

Being ranked 9th is fine because of the talent on the team. If the talent is used properly the ranking gets better, if not properly used it will geaux down.
The ranking at the end of the season is the only one that counts anyway.
