yea I didn't agree with it at first but realized it so important to win that first game or you will be clawing yourself out of the whole the rest of the time. I think we did great. If you think about it no one really went very long. Ranada struggled and threw 70+ pitches but he only went 3 and 1/3. We should be fine.

I'm glad we were able to pad the lead a little in the bottom of the 8th. I don't know if I put Ott in with a one run lead.

The last time this happended, the rant was in meltdown- but tonight, I don't think anyone questioned the decision. Coach M did what he had to do to get this win. That first game sets the tone...

Coleman will pitch Monday. Ranaudo didn't have a great night, and that will actually benefit LSU. The bats and bullpen were enough to win, and Ranaudo will be back sooner to pitch again by Game 3 or 4 for the Tigers.

I let out a big sigh of relief when I saw LC coming in in the 8th. I guess that means I agree wholeheartedly. All I kept thinking about prior to that was how we were going to make it to Ott in the 9th. UVA was a tough out all night.

I think everyone but Ranaudo will be available Monday.
It was probably a good move to insert Coleman (and then Ott). The trade-off is 15 pitches vs. an entire game on your staff in the loser's bracket.
That big bottom of the 8th should pay some tournament long dividends.
