If you were the coach of our opponent, would you pitch a lefty even if he wasn't your best available.

Possibly. LHP vs. LSU is like a zone vs. Brady.

I wish they would but as long as they have a lefty they will use a lefty if they want to have a chance at winning. But, I do not believe one single pitcher will do us in if they do they can not make any mistakes like last night one mistake is all it took last night and one mistake again is all it will take for us to do it again.

I'd start an unproven freshman lefty against LSU way before as proven righty right now for sure.

Maneri deserves a for not hving these boys facing more lefties at practice.

You know we're bad against lefties when South Carolina reaches deep into its bullpen for a lefty who pitched all of one inning this season.

And he struck out Mitchell...

And this going to cost Mitchell a lot of money in the draft.

It seems like it's in his head now. He's out before stepping into the box.

It'll hurt him a bit in the draft, but it's correctable. No limited practice hours at that level.

How many practices have you been to this year? How do you know Coach M doesn't have the team face lefties in practice? I trust Coach M, and he's done a lot of shifting lately to get guys in the lineup that will hit lefties better. BUT I will say that it has been VERY frustrating watching us offensively lately

I agree and I'm not talking about in the long run. I am talking about at signing it will cost Mitchell money because there will be more polished hitters ahead of him that may see higher signing day money.

Really? I trust Maneri too, one would be a fool to not, but you have to admit that they have not faced enough left handers in practice to be just over .500 against lefties and having only lost 2 or 3 games all year against righties.

I don't have to be a practice when the statistics prove something true.

Barely above .500 against LHPs.

Barely lost against RHPs.

You give me a reason for this then.

I could strike out Mitchell throwing a curveball left handed and I am right handed.

If that's your logic then why did we not turn a 6-4-3 double play or whatever until we inserted Nola into the lineup. Did we not practice enough 6-4-3 double plays at practice?

How are defending LSU hitters against lefties? I don't care what the coaches did to prepare our hitters against lefties it didn't work. LSU is terrible against them and it doesn't have to be good lefties either.

Glad we had Coleman on the mound yesterday....

I'm not defending the hitters. I know they have struggled againgst lefties. I'm arguing that it's not due to not enough practice.

I think where we are will end up benefiting us. I think we are going to see LHP until we learn to hit them. Like it or not, I saw improvment hitting LHP last night. Give us a game or two more of nothing but LHP and I think we hit them. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now to just hope it's not an oncoming train....

We had 6 hits, 3 by Mahtook. Two of them were soft infield hits. Not many hard hit balls all night.

Who improved?
