Who's bright idea was it to give him his own show?

Lorne Michaels. The same man responsible for putting Conan on air.

His show reminds me of a crappy SNL skit that has gone on too long, the first laugh was over and now he's grasping for straws

he does suck but I think its more the writing than anything

his monologue is horrible and while he does write some and have some influence in what goes in, his writers just suck

sure conan was funny as hell but he had some great writers behind the scenes

that to me is the main reason his show sucks arse

Hey Conan didn't come out of the chute running. Conan had plenty of growing when he started.

Having said that, Fallon is just horrible. I mean in general. I haven't watched his show yet, but he was simply terrible on SNL. I am not sure he ever finished a skit without laughing. Ever.

Conan has charisma, while Fallon does not. He also has delivery, which will get better with time. Same with comfort level. But right now, he's a train wreck. It's almost awkward watching him. Thank God there's a applause sign or else it'd just be crickets.

I am sorry but Conan was wooden and nervous when he started. He grew into the job.

Can Fallon? Probably not, but I hope they at least give him some time like they gave Conan.

It's hard for me to be objective because I wasn't too thrilled with the Fallon pick from the beginning. Conan was fairly new to the front of the camera and had excellent experience as a comedic writer. Fallon on the other hand, I just don't know what it is about him, it's like the Dane Cook Effect or something.

God no! Dane Cook at his worst is a million times better than Fallon and I am not a Dane cook fan.

I am not sure how he continues to get work. Must have some photos of NBC execs with underage chicks is about all I can come up with.

But I still think he can get better over time. I mean the bar is so low, it is hard not to go up.

Please seek emergency medical help. You seem to be having a stroke.

He was in town the other day and the venue had it advertised in the local free paper every week for awhile along with this picture and I wanted to smash my fist through the paper everytime I saw it-

Fallon is devoid of talent. Just go back and watch some of Norm Macdonald's Weekend Update clips and compare them to Fallon's. They aren't even in the same league. To be fair, Norm and Dennis Miller took Weekend Update to another level.

It probably helped that Conan himself was a comedy writer.

Additionally, Conan does self-deprecating humor believably, Fallon does not.

People also forget that Conan has experience with improvisational comedy. That is the biggest difference between the two. Conan was a little shaky at first when he started but not as bad as Fallon.

Fallon is just so awkward to watch. I think his skit bits are OK but his monologues are hard to watch.

Sure, Conan was a little awkward at first... BUT:

- It didn't last long, AND
- You could see the potential there AND
- He had never fronted a show before

Contrast that with Fallon, who...

- Hasn't shown much improvement
- Has AWFUL material AND
- Has not only had plenty of on-camera experience with SNL, he has actually been the lead actor in feature movies ("Fever Pitch").

I would have expected Fallon to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more polished than he is right now.

It's okay when a joke or two falls flat. But when everything falls flat... yikes.

Did you see Conan when he didn't have writers during the writers strike? He was funnier than ever.
