Was it harder to make the cake or to keep that kid's grubby little hands from getting into it?

nice cake... was it from a bakery or home-made?

This was from my Atlanta Wedding in Feb of 2008, The cake stand was covered in purple velvet and had "National Champions" sewn into it with gold thread....we also played the fight song! It was awesome, the UGA and AU fans in attendance thought it was cool....

I'll see if I can find the pic but my buddy had a replica Tiger Stadium cake with lights, scoreboard, upperdeck, everything. He married an Ole Miss girl so the score was something like LSU 50 - Ole Miss 0.

I know exactly who you're talking about. She is the advisor for the LSU Ambassadors and tells the story at every orientation.

That is freakin awsome.
I work with a friend sometimes on the weekend delivering wedding cakes for his company. One weekend we delivered a LSU stadium cake for the groom that cost around $400.

In general conversation with one of the host/event manager, the subject came up about the grooms love for LSU. Apparantly ole boy was pretty well off because he inquired about getting a few members of the band to come parade through his reception. I think the quoted price was around $10K and he didn't blink an eye. His bride shut him down though because she thought it made her wedding into a circus.

I am not getting an LSU cake for mine. I could never eat that cake and I'd be telling my guests that it's only for show if I did.

My groom's cake was a replica of The Chimes. I wish I had a picture of it.
