I've never been his biggest fan but I didn't think he was an absolute worthless piece of shite either. Hell I remember seeing people on here getting RIPPED for criticizing him during the season..."HE WAS COACH OF THE YEAR!!!!"

Well no one understood why he always has the same expression on his face but last year we all just assumed he must actually coach behind the scenes cuz they were winning. But now since we are gettin pwnd, it is apparent that he doesnt do anything.

also the handling of juju this season has made people turn on him.

so thats pretty much ur answer.

Yeah exactly. Any moron that knew anything about coaching probably could have taken that team at LEAST to the conference finals. People can't really use that in an argument when defending him.

people haven't thought he was a great coach since the beginning. they started getting pissed off at about the all-star break this year. the loathing started monday night around the middle of the 3rd quarter.

One of the biggest problems with Scott is his development of young players. J.R. Smith and Brandon Bass were both drafted by Scott and Co.

Then apparently Scott decides neither is developing properly, and they are either traded or not re-signed. Of course, both go on to be solid contributors to other teams.

As we all know, either one of those guys would make a huge differnce on this Hornets team.

Not to mention his lack of engagement in the games.

If he gets fired, will he be the only coach who received coach of the years honors the year before. If so, that's a travesty

I think the key has been missing your threads promoting how good we are.

Feel free to start one up today. We need it!

Looking back it makes no sense BUT at the time it seemed reasonable.

to me at the time it seemed unreasonable still considering how weak we were last year after chandler. and weve just gotten worse this year.

The 3 COY winners before Byron were all let go from there teams within 2 yrs of winning the award. Byron would make the 4th so its basically the norm

The frustrating thing for me is that BS seems to be one of the most stubborn, unaccountable individuals on the planet. Throughout this season, and even to a certain extent last season, his rotation became stale and he absolutely refused to do anything about it. The Hornets get into a hole points-wise early on and end up relying on one of the worst benches in the NBA to dig them out.

And at the end of the game it's always "we weren't physical enough" or "we weren't as aggressive as we should have been"... it's never "my coaching staff and I were outcoached". I'm starting to think the players despise him for this.

We would be ripped in the media for firing a coach within a year of his receiving COY honors. Thank God Stephen A. Smith left ESPN because I can hear him already...

"SHAME ON YOU, NEW ORLEANS, FOR FIRING BYRON SCOTT!. A YEAR AFTER BEING NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR, NO LESS! BLAH. BLAH. BLAH. SLA-VA-MED-VE-DENKO!!!"

Something like that.

I think the honeymoon with Byron ended when he got stopped playing JR Smith. the complaint has always been that he doesn't know how to develop young talent.

I do think though that since he has been here, it's the first time the team took a step back.
