Yeah, I guess what I said was not completely true, but everyone should know not to over cook the shrimp or they will be hard to peel.
but to me, the butter does help

add some vinegar and olive oil maybe 1/2 a cup each. cool rapidly using frozen 2 liter bottles.

Buy the ones that are already peeled. You can get them at Sam's and Wal-Mart, and probably other stores. They only come with the tip of the tail on them. They also have the ones that still have the shell on, but have been de-veined, so they have been split all the way down the back

You should go buy shrimp in Kansas too where they're nice and fresh
