For a 2-12 Ivy League team to play a close game against one of the top-ranked teams in the nation constitutes a victory, albeit of the moral kind.

If I was them I'd be happy with the game, thought the article was fine except I really didn't get this statement

I posted yesterday that Harvard's No. 1 pitcher was good. He was. The rest are horrible. This game will be a blow out. Same as when they played up here at Centenary.

Nope, there were no safety squeezes.

But from that wikipedia link it sounds like they're saying he reached base safely. They could have just said he had two hits, instead of writing in T-ball terms.

If you put safely in the sentence it also make no fricking sense, plus its Haaaavard, I don't expect grammar mistakes coming out if there haha

Exactly...it's an "old school" expression to say a hitter has "hit safely"

I didn't think a safety squeeze would involve a double, but you never know...

Designated hitter, Biff Wellington struck out in the fourth on a called third strike. A bit peeved at the umpire's mindless call, he retreated to the Crimson dugout for a glass of tea and consoling by his steady girlfriend, Muffy.
