Thanks, I don't visit the F&D often. So, the only hit it got for Baton Rouge is Mason's? Where is Maxwell's?

Hop on I-10 East to NOLA.

No Baton Rouge restaurant sells a good Cuban.

Anyone sell a halfway decent one? BJ's Brewhouse had a Cuban burger that was pretty good, but I've never come across a sandwich anywhere around here.

By the way, I know exactly where that Cuban-American Restaurant is. I stopped at the BK across the street 2 weekends ago for a pitstop on the way to NOLA. Should've gotten a damn sandwich while I was right there!

Take it from me, the Cuban at Maxwell's is nothing special.

why give it a rest if no place in BR sells a quality, authentic Cuban?

+1

He asked a question, I answered it. Ironic considering the way some posters on here lose their mind if you claim good boudin can be found anywhere other than Ville Platte or Scott.

I still have a couple of loaves of pan cubano/criollo that I brought with me from my trip to Florida from last week. Bring me a 5th of makers and Ill make you a damn good pressed medianoche.

Sounds tempting, but it looks like I'm going to have to settle for Mason's. Now if lunch time would just hurry up and get here.

I gotta tell you, I hadn't had Monteria in such a long time, and as a kid, I thought it was disgusting...but the way my godmother made it this past time it was delectable.

Especially with the black beans, yucca, tostones, and the arroz con leche for dessert.

I was in heaven.

Because the case could be made that something "quality and authentic" can only be found in the area of origin.

We all know this isn't Cuba or Miami, but damn, if someone wants a Cuban in BR, tell them where they can find the closest thing, instead of being some pompus food snob
