Jan. 2 1911 LSU(Louisiana) vs Harvard (Law) football game...

The final score was 0-0
In what was called the finest exhibition of football ever given in Louisiana.
Louisiana team lineup:
RE Howell
RT Noblet
RG Thomas
C Hall
LG Martin
LT Long (Oklahoma)
LE McDonald (Colegate)
RHB Evans
LHB Mayhew (Brown)
FB Hammond
QB Fenton
Mayhew was the LSU coach at the time of the game, and McDonald would be the coach in 3 years.
Mayhew is also the only All American on the Louisiana team, while the Harvard All Star team had over 3.
Hammond is still playing hurt from the first game of the 1910 season.
The Harvard team had been together for near 2 weeks and already played 2 games, while the Louisiana team was only together for 2 days.
The missing two players (Siep RE, and Lally RHB) hurt the Louisiana teams' offense. Lally was sick much of late Oct-Dec.

Incase some of you do not get it.....
An LSU All Star team held a Harvard All Star team to 0-0 tie at a time when Harvard was called the best football team in America.
Harvard had won the 1908 & 1910 national titles by most papers picking a championship team.
and would go on to win the 1912 & 13 titles.
And that game favored Harvard who had played together for 2 weeks.

I like defensive games and everything, but I would have been pissed to leave that game tied 0-0.

I was at that game and I can remember Tiger Baiting the Harvard team. Alas, there were no urine bags thrown at the other team.

Throwing urine at a bunch of law students would probably be a bad idea.

Looking at the date, he might have had to leave early because he didn't want to ride his horse at night.....

According to Oklahoma fans, our fanbase tried to stick opposing fans with bubonic plague infected needles.

I'm still pissed at Bertman for issuing that press release after the game, apologizing to the Harvard team and its fans for the boorish behavior of LSU fans.
Fwiw, Bertman was rockin' a mullet back then. Already bald on top, though.
