The Braves have decided that they are going to refuse to deal with the agents/firm that represents Furcal.

They claim that the agent was dishonest in taking the offer sheet that was signed by Wren and showing it to the Dodgers in order to get LA to boost their deal. Supposedly the offer sheet when signed by the GM is the final step in a free agent signing - the player signs the sheet and that is that.

We'll see how long this boycot actually lasts.

Dude that's just the nature of the business. It is the agent's job to get the highest possible dollar amount for his client.

Especially with a sport that doesn't have a salary cap, agents will continue to ask for more and more money.

Good for Schuerholz....he's going to take stand for his organization. To have a gentleman's agreement and then have these backstabbing business thugs go back and shop Furcal around to up the ante. So much for their word. They look out only for themselves and appartently don't care who gets burn in the process. They don't realize or didn't care that this may harm future negotiations with the Braves nor give their profession a bad name.

The Braves are one of the top respectable organizations in baseball out there. Schuerholz is one of the top front office people and top GMs when he held that position. There's a way to do business....and there's a way to do business...and this is not the way.
