Ever since Charles Woodson won it over Peyton Manning. An absolute joke.

Maybe he is trying to figure out how this has anything to do with the Saints.

I'm asking what this has to relate to the Saints board? Just wondering if I'm missing something.

It could relate to the fact that Reggie won the Heisman and Reggie is a joke

I don't as a player who wants to make it in the NFL would want to win that thing. It has become a curse.

Too many people see it as a measuring stick of NFL success. Look at Danny Weurfel (sp?), Gino Teretta (sp?), Andre Ware, Troy Smith, Jason White....and I don't think Charles Woodson is that good either....never was.

Charles Woodson won the Heisman because they wanted an alternative to Manning, but he was a fricking bad arse CB and kick returner in college and occasionally played WR. Joke of a Heisman winner because it should have gone to Manning, but he was a great player in his own right and is still a very good DB in the NFL.

"of late", the trophy is a joke.....
Posted on 12/13/08 at 11:09 am to putt1058
and I don't think Ricky Williams belongs in the group you listed.....head case.

Dude has had some great season in the NFL, would have been a HOFer if he wasn't a head case.

but Dude, he IS a head case....ripped as all heck, but an NFL career with a TON of adversity that he hasn't necessarily overcome.....

Oh no....I don't think it has ALWAYS been that way.....just since the Woodson/Manning thing in my mind.....it was too obvious to me.

yes he is, he is also still a good player and has some dominating seasons compared to some Heisman winners that weren't even NFL porspects (White, Crouch, Weinke).
Should be noted Heisman is for college production, not NFL prospects.

Gino Torreta over Marshall Faulk was worse. Tim Brown won in 87 and several voters said they mailed their ballots in with 3 weeks left\, Brown had a horrible game against Miami the last week, he was anointed as the preseason winner and that was that, they basically started counting total yards, including kick returns to boost Brown's stats.
