Who have you seen on this team that will be the vocal leader to help will next year's team to victory?

I've heard/ read so many times here lately there is no leadership on this team. Who will it be in 2009?

We need a QB who can be one of the leaders. Look at Flynn, JR and Mauck, that's what they were. Of course, leadership from that position is especially earned by on-field performance; guys ain't gonna follow you if they don't have confidence in you. This applies to any leadership position, I know, but especially from the guy who gets the ball every play on offense. No disprespect to Lee or Jeff, I support both of them, but it's obvious we don't have a leader at QB, and it'll take time (like well into next season) to even possibly develop one.

If Scottie stays, he'd be a good candidate. Maybe Alexander if he stays—and stays healthy. Alem? I dunno, he's great and he plays with fire, but I don't hear a lot from him in the press (maybe that's because of the kind of year we've had). LaFell's been a leader this year but I suppose there's a good chance he's gone after the season.

One hallmark of recent Tiger teams is leadership in abundance—we've had tons of guys who get it done on the field and hence command the respect of the other guys. We need to step it up in the area, and maybe the bitter experiences of this year will produce some guys who are mad as hell and won't take it anymore!

Scott-He has tried already to become the leader. I say let him take the load. Seems to be a natural.

Neither of these guys appear to be very vocal. If you look at the excellent sideline video of the suckass Troy game, there do not appear to be any vocal leaders. How about T-Bob-does he have his Daddy's fire? Tough for a freshman to take that role, but Shepard seems to have the personality to do it.

Anyone on the current team would be crazy to go early to the NFL draft. Does RJF even have one sack this year? They should all come back with a big arse chip on their shoulders and come down on every team like a hammer.

Both of them tried, but missing some leadership traits. Tough situation, but might need some underclassman to fill the void next year.

agreed. not one player has distinguished themselves enought to be a high pick if they leave early. this includes cs and rjf.

however, they may leave just to get off a sinking ship.

That's why they are not good leaders.

Maybe the team would be better if they moved on since they would've & should've if they could've.

clearly it will be Alem...he plays with so much heart no matter what the circumstances...like at the end of the Ole Miss game on goal-to-go downs with about a minute left for the Webels he was still anticipating the snap count and busting people in the mouth...who cares if he drew a flag...that kid fires me up big time

Brandon LaFell
Rahim Alem
Chad Jones
Harry Coleman

Some ideas for upperclassmen that could take on a leadership role.

EDIT: All of these guys may be back next year, too; Scott/LaFell might try their luck in the draft, but I suspect that all three defensive players will be back (especially since Alem and Jones MUST be back) and it wouldn't surprise me to see Scott/LaFell back, even with the rookie salary changes coming next year.
