Anyone know where to go for Thursday night and Friday pregame/night bar scene? Preferably not an exclusively 18-21 crowd.

The hangout on Thursday night for many LSU fans is the Westend Smokehouse. Very nice restaurant and bar and one of the few nice watering holes that is opened on Thanksgiving.

Any of these places seem tight! I would Tiger Bait all of them.

I would suggest Cajun's Warf or Westend Smokehouse. Good luck finding a decent restaurant in Arkansas.

Also The Flying Saucer is a decent watering hole with around 100 beers on tap. Just be careful going downtown in Little Rock. There's a pretty good chance you'll get mugged or your car will get broken into.

Care to expand on how you know such things? LR is no different that other towns/cities it's size with an entertainment district.

I lived in Arkansas for a handful of years.............although you wouldn't think so, the crime is really bad. Pretty much everyone I knew there, including myself, had their home and car broken into at some point......most more than once. I couldn't wait to get out of that pothole.

FLtiggah, I can't get to your link while at work. I think we are looking mainly for a bar type atmosphere as opposed to bar/grill, but either way I guess. I am a little surprised to hear about the crime.

Downtown Little Rock is pretty much cleaned up. Unless you go slumming, you should have no problems.

How hard is it to find a place to park and tailgate near the stadium, assuming the weather is ok. We are staying downtown.

I know this is off of the original topic, but if you're looking for a good steak, I've had good luck with Sonny Williams' Steak Room downtown.

They rope off the greens, and most people park and tailgate on a golf course next to the stadium (I believe it's called War Memorial Golf Course). I forgot how much they charge to park though. Other than that it's just neighborhoods around and most people charge around $5-$10 to park in their yard.

There are several bars/eateries in downtown Little Rock at the River Market that are fairly nice places. To name a few...Flying Saucer, Guisanno's, Flying Fish, Sticky Fingerz Rock N Roll Chicken Shack, Willy D's Piano Bar, Ernie Biggs Piano Bar, Underground Pub.... It's the most civilized place to have a few drinks that I have found.

There is a Double Tree, The Peabody, and Capital Hotel all within a few blocks of the river market as well.

Downtown crime is not that bad. I work in the Stephens Building right across the street from the Peabody, which is like 2 blocks from the River Market. Crime is pretty much non-existant. There are homeless people that roam the downtown area, but the worst they do is ask for moneys.
