He's one guy that seems to hustle every play.

We don't want to win obviously.

I think he plays a pretty good percentage of the snaps. Obviously, he's the best edge-rusher on the squad so they like to save his legs for passing situations.

The thing I'm so impressed with the season with Rahim compared to last is he's got a better idea about how to keep contain. He may not have the size to eventually produce in the league, but he's a hell of a college DE.

he's a pass rusher, that's it. being that other teams don't start in 3rd and long situations, he is useless on 1st downs.

On the Ole Miss fumble, he did a HELLUVA job getting outside and forcing the Ole Miss RB back inside where he got hit and fumbled. I don't think any of our other DE's have the speed to make that play.

he was rushing the QB on the outside. it just happened to be a running play to the outside. I haven't even seen him get to the QB on the inside. He is a bad man when he is just pinning his ears back and running past Olinemen. But, he can also be way out of position on other plays because rushing is his specialty.

It isn't a knock on him. Just a fact. He's by far our best pass rusher, and it isn't even close. He might be the best in the SEC.

Because he would scare the offense into submission and that's just not fun.

Yeah but the way he RAN DOWN the RB was all hustle and speed, which can accomplish a lot. He made something happen with that play.

he started vs. Bama, but I guess they feel Pittman is a better every down end.

he doens't start b/c he doesn't "fit" this glorious defensive scheme

no reason he shouldn't be starting. he disrupts plays in the backfield, however, which is NOT what our DL is coached to do

I guess the good news is he'll be a SR next year which equals an automatic starting position, I guess.

Keep in mind for the folks saying Alem isn't any good against the run...

Pittman = 31 tackles
Alem = 26 tackles

And it's no secret Alem has played less snaps.

Pittman has been playing less and less the last few weeks. He has been a big disappointment this year.
