I have a friend who is Clemson fan but a bigger fan of college football. For the past several years he has gone to one SEC game each season and is coming to LSU this weekend. What would you say are the top 3 things he must experience on campus this saturday.

1) Mike the Tiger's habitat
2) Witnessing the band come down the hill
3) Tailgating/Pregame

1) Pre-game!!!!

2) Tailgating (sorry so general)

3) Get him laid on the Indian Mounds after the victory (less crowded)

1. Band marching down hill
2. The Chimes (perhaps after the game since its a day game)
3. Sneaking in Booze

My father always picks up two pints of Jack for the game and we each sneak one in.

We are both presently undefeated.

1. Definitely just get there early, and walk around campus to see the sheer magnitude of the tailgating. Like the RV lot, up and down nicholson and the parade grounds.

2. Mike's cage/Band coming down the hill

3. Pregame.

I hope he has a GREAT time coming to our Death Valley!

Whatever you do - don't go to hear the band at Serrano's. Worst cover bands ever.

Ok , I think you are getting some good advice but not well explained .
For a 2:30 kickoff get there early (9:00AM) cruise the tailgating and enjoy. Visit Mike habitat at your leasure but they take hin out pretty early.
Next see the band coming down the hill. Locals can clue you in on exact timing but should be around 1:00.
What everyone refers to as " Pregame " is actually done in the stadium just before kickoff by the band and is MANDATORY ! Have a great time

Pre-game is precisely 15 minutes before kickoff. I don't care what the kickoff time is, it is ALWAYS 15 minutes before. (I think the best part of any game)

That's what I told him just wished he was experiencing a night game. Thanks

For a typical home game this is correct but this is senior day. Pregame will probably be closer to 30 minutes before kickoff. It has to be earlier than usual becase the seniors walk throught the band tunnel one at a time to get the pictures taken. There is not enough time to do that, especially with 20 seniors, if pregame starts 15 minutes before kickoff. My suggestion would be to watch the band come down the hill then go directly into the stadium that way you are sure not to miss it.

Get in a position where you can hear the Band coming down the hill. Last couple of times I was at the bottom and could not hear the band because of the crowd noise.
