Uncommitted ESPNU 150 defensive tackle Jamarkus McFarland told affiliate Web site OUInsider.com, "As of right now, I am at Oklahoma and Texas."

He explained, "Well, basically, it is getting to the point where it is becoming so hectic that I am thinking I have got to make a choice. I even talked to (LSU commit) Russell (Shepard) a little bit and he mentioned that some of the other recruits found LSU as a great place, but I told him I had to pick a school that was best for me. I feel that they are stacked at my position to where I won't get some playing time, so I kind of look at these other two (OU, UT) based on that. But if I can't get anything out of it, maybe I will go back to my third choice."

HIS 3rd Choice is LSU!!!!!!!!!!!Lets hope RS can talk him into LSU

He certainly did leave the door open. I've thought that since I saw that quote. We'll see. Hopefully for our sake Shep runs circles around Lufkin in their playoff game Saturday and McFarland wants on board.

I want someone that wants to come to LSU and compete, not to shy away from competition!

Besides that, we are NOT stacked at his position.

On the roster this year:

99 Marlon Favorite Sr. (graduates/draft)
92 Drake Nevis So.
97 Al Woods Jr.
71 Cordian Hagans Fr.
90 Ricky Jean-Francois Jr. (draft)
91 Charles Alexander Sr. (graduates/draft)
89 Lavar Edwards Fr.
96 Kentravis Aubrey Fr.

DT position when J-Mac would arrive:

92 Drake Nevis So.
97 Al Woods Jr.
71 Cordian Hagans Fr. (hasn't played)
89 Lavar Edwards Fr. (hasn't played)
96 Kentravis Aubrey Fr. (played a few snaps)

There will only be 2 DTs on the roster next year who have played meaningful snaps. Jamarkus would have the chance for immediate playing time as a 2nd team DT and could end up starting for 3 years.

I have a feeling his tune will change slightly, maybe not sign with LSU, but change come mid January.
