Hopefully he'll be a good pickup for us if he comes here.

Awesome! Lot like the recruitment of Loston. I don't know all too much about Allen except that we're recruiting him at fullback. Can anyone report on what type/caliber of player he is?

Like Quinn Johnson except a better runner.

He looks like a great FB that can catch the ball and has the ability to change direction to make tacklers miss--amazingly quick and light on his feet for a 235 pounder.

Also not a bad description for an LB....could he change to LB?

he could, but we really need an fb for next year. quinn is gone and DA could come in and fill that void. he could be the one pure fb we have next year.

Hes a really good looking FB, IMO. If they were to reward one a 4 star it would be him. I'm actually surprised at how athletic he is in his videos with his hands/running ability. I think this guy is definitely premium and isn't a player you should look at the star rating for. Great pickup if we get him.

You know, its surprising, but I'm nearly as excited about Allen as I am about many of the other blue chippers that we seem to be pulling in. He's got decent body control, good hands, and good vision for holes and cutback lanes.
Yeah, I would say that in most pics and videos he looks like he's pushing 250, but I think that once he gets here and the S&C coaches get ahold of him, they'll take that baby fat off, and add on some good lean mass. I would think that in a year or two, he'll be a rock at 250-260 instead of a soft 250. He could stand to be a little bit faster, but that will also come with strength conditioning. Give it a couple of years, though, and he's gonna be quite a load for some defender.
LSU has often lacked a fullback with the speed and strength to hit the hole fast and clear it out early enough for our quick backs. Thats one reason many inside plays with our speedsters end up getting stuffed in the gap. I think this guy will be a great addition.
Thinking about him blowing through the hole or kicking out a DE with Ford, Richardson(?), Shepard, Randle, or especially Seastrunk coming right behind him just makes me smile.
