First post here so I fully expect to get ripped on an LSU board but below are my thoughts:

I see a lot of negative/frustrated posts from LSU fans in response to the latest loss vs. UGA which is understandable, but if LSU beats 'bama do these go away? I'd surely imagine that they would. I actually think that UGA and/or UF beat 'bama if they play right now.

Bama vs. LSU over the last 10-15 years have normally (few exceptions of course) been close, tight, good football games! I surely wouldn't expect anything different in 2 weeks down in B.R. I know there's frustration with the coaching/team but LSU is a solid team, period. Don't be too quick to give up on your team.

I, as a 'bama fan, do not feel good about this game at all. Bama's middle field D is average at best! Run 10 slants over the middle and you'll have 10 first downs.

I'll be down in Baton Rouge soon so take it easy on us bama fans who aren't asses!
Prediction: 28-24... not sure of the winner yet though!

You should not feel good about this game. The team will be pissed off and will want to piss on Saban and his party. I think this game is close and nasty as hell and I also can't pick a winner. I highly doubt a blowout because LSU will play this one out their arse on raw emotion alone. Should be a good one.

Very true. I wouldn't be suprised at all if LSU wins. I take it the hatred for Saban hasn't subsided at all, even after the win last season in Tuscaloosa (which I was also at)? Surely, it's got to have died down some, right?

I think Georgia over LSU in that fashion was a statement game for UGA after the loss to Alabama. A little redemption if you will.
Thats what I think will happen in this game. LSU will be playing loosely and the talent will show up.

I would not say everybody hates the guy, but I know they don't like him. The one and only thing I miss about him is his defensive skills as a coach. I also like his animation and willingness to get in a player's face on the sideline when he messes up. He also runs out and gives props to players when he does well. Guy is a very good coach just shite on us and turns around and goes to the one team that no LSU fan could tolerate him going to. Things should simmer down a little bit after this game I would think, but I am probably wrong about that.

I think Bama should be very confident coming down here and winning.

A few mistakes by LSU, which they seem destined to do, and everyone will be down on themselves, second-guessing each other and the fans will be booing.

Just like in the 1990's.

I agree 100%. Most of the fans that travel to the other school for a game are pretty classy people for the most part. This game will have the fringe fans in high numbers. I think the game in BR this year will be nuts. You could not give me tickets to this game and if I did go I would wear an LSU shirt to assure that I made it back to my truck in one piece.

haha! Well, hopefully, I'll make it out of Baton Rouge alive! Last time I was there was when 'bama won 33-0 in 2003 or whenever that was (it's been a while since 'bama has won).
If I don't get tickets, what place do y'all recommend we watch the game at? We may actually just tailgate before, during, and after the game - hopefully with all limbs still intact!

I think Bama will win this game, but I sure hope I'm wrong.

A note to Bama fans re. Baton Rouge: go to the game! I'ts going to be a great atmosphere and if any Tiger fans are rude, just ignore them. I dont personally think you will see much of that though.

Sadly Scoop, I agree. Which is a shame. Because it seems that of all the opposing fans, the Bama and LSU folks seem to get along the best.

But unfortunately, there will be many, many rantards out at the game that day. And I can definitely see something ugly going down - aka throwing crap at Bama's bus, etc.

I think this one will be a dogfight and a close game. I think there is no doubt the fans will be fired up and alot of emotion in the stadium.

A question though. Do you think the players will have the animosity that the fans have really, though? Pretty much, this is Miles' team and his players, from recruiting to fully coached. I expect them to come out like any big SEC game, but I just don't see the raw emotion over it being Saban as much as I see it as a huge must win SEC game for the players. What do yall think?

I don't think the players give one crap. I think Miles and Saban may have a little something as far as "personal" reasons.

But mostly it just stems from the fans and the media.

one thing that concerns me about the Bama game is the end. If the game goes down to the wire and Bama pulls it out and the Bama fans start that 'we just beat the hell out of you" cheer, it could be very ugly for them. Combine alcohol, the Saban crap, recent embarrasing losses and one the most hated fan bases screaming "we just beat the hell out of you" - I predict some fights. I don't condone it, I wouldn't do it but I can really see it happening. If I was a Bama fan going to this game I would be on my best behavior, enjoy the game, and resist the temptation for trash talk and that "beat the hell out of you" cheer at the end of the game. There will be a lot of very short tempered LSU fans out there. Here's to a good game with no confrontations.

No, the player understand that this is a game it's fans that are idiots.

I went to high school at the same school where Stan White (Auburn QB) went to school. He was a freshmen when I was a senior and he hung around my friends little brother. We had a party to watch the Auburn/Alabama game at my friends house. About 2 hours after the game was over we were drinking beer and watching another game and the front door opened. It was Stan White and two Alabama Defensive linemen that had been trying to kill him all night. They were friends from HS and they were hanging out after the game.

Players play becuase they love the game. Fans pull for teams that they are not good enough to play for. I would chop my balls off to have been good enough to play for Alabama, Auburn, LSU or any other D-1 program. I have been a BAMA fan my entire life and you can bet your arse that if I had been able to sign with Auburn out of high school I would be a war eagle screaming MF.

It was 2002 and it was 31-0. LSU had Matt Mauck miss the game and we used Marcus Randall...at the time , inexperienced and it showed...no points for us.

Nah, it could still very well be a blow out by a much better coached and disciplined Alabama team. I don't like our chances of even keeping it close.
