Anyone else think the ref got tired of USC using him as a pick, and decided to lay the wood to Garcia? I think he got tired of their recievers running our LB's into him, and decided that was his best shot to hit the wormy little bastard. Just my take

I swear my wife and I said the same thing last night. It was too funny! I mean he prepped for the hit, then actually had to stop himself from following through with it.

if you watch the replay it definately looks like the ref threw an elbow. It looks like he could've gotten out of the way if he wanted.

Guess he just missed playing football.

Yes thats it.. he got tired of WRs using him as a pick so he hit our QB

and tiger4life i thought the same thing when i saw the vid for the 1st time today (in person it looked like he just ran into the ref) we coulda used him to help us get into OT.

I've never seen anything like that before. He went out of his way to give him the old forearm shiv.

that angle makes it look 100% intentional!

it looks like he followed him then broke down and laid the wood!!

USC scored on that drive anyways. So it really didn't matter in the end.

Does anyone know what the ruling would be if Garcia had fumbled when the ref hit him? I guess it would be ruled a fumble, but that ref would be under serious investigation.

actually, that was the drive we stoned them at the 1 inch line, and the refs made a shitty call. Should have been our ball.

But they still scored...

You make an argument like I was wrong and they didn't put points on the board. Whether they got in or not. They still "scored".

I wasn't arguing, just stating that it was actually the play we stoned them. They scored, they lost, the ref got a stat., good enough for me.

Oh my god - and I was in the Kitchen. That guy has to be suspended - I mean - did he have LSU with his bookie or what. I have never seen anything like that. The South Carolina people are taking this very very well.

I know that it looks very much like he did it on purpose, but I really don't think that's the case. In the heat of the moment he probably saw Garcia running his way and felt like he couldn't react fast enough to get out of the way. So, he braced himself and devlivered the blow instead of absorbing the hit. I'm sure he wasn't thinking "I'm going to tackle this bitch," as Garcia was running towards him.

LOL! THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE SEEN IN A WHILE. That ref played linebacker in highschool, that was textbook shuffle and explode!!!!
