At one point, I thought the USC game could be a trap game, wedged between Florida and Georgia. Now I see it as pivotal: LSU's back is now up against the wall and we're the ones, like Florida last night, who needs to come out and prove something.

I think LSU will do it, too, because I think the coaches and the players will want to make a statement...the quickest way to get the bad taste of a defeat out of your mouth is to come out with a strong effort against your next opponent on the road and prove ourselves again as contentders. It's also the quickest way to shut up naysayers.

I see it as a referendum on the staff. We will see if they are willing to make the difficult changes, or are spineless. Not a referendum on Miles job. But it will be a measuring stick of how good they really are. It will set the tone for the rest of the year, if that has not already been done. I think it has.
