My good friend and I have made many LSU games, both home and away. Sometimes our wives will go, sometimes just the guys. He and his wife are driving to Gainesville for game, and spending tomorrow night in Lake City.

I really wanted to go to this game but had some serious conflicts until yesterday. Friday afternoon I resolve all conflicts, get a kitchen pass, and approach friend about catching a ride (we will split gas). I don't have a room or ticket, but I still have 24 hours to work those details out.

Friend is non-committal, says his wife isn't saying I can't go, but she isn't happy about being odd man out. I locate and book a hotel room in Lake City, and tell friend he and his wife can ignore me; I just want to go to game. Finding a single ticket shouldn't be a big deal.

Once I force his hand, friend says if I bring my wife (who has conflicts and is not really a Tiger fan) we can go, but he won't risk his wife's cold shoulder by letting me ride alone.

Yep dude thats how the married life works.Your friends wife decides what he can do....not you and him. Best bet is to get your two wives together planning road trips.

My wife does the talking. I perfected the illusion of listening.

Dude, I think it is time to get a new wife. And one for your friend, too.

My wife is co-hosting an engagement party tonight, and still gave me the green light to go to Gainesville.

This thread is about my a-hole friend.

Your the a-hole for trying to frick up his weekend at the last minute. If you were a friend you wouldn't be selfish and think of yourself. Sounds like your wife has something more than an engagement party going on.

Just because his wife is understanding doesn't mean she has "something more" going on

Wives will always find a way to screw things up. No flexibility at all, once plans need to change.

What is it with some of you guys for marrying women that don't love LSU football? There are plenty of women that do and love to talk about the Tigers. Good looking women that love the Tigers. You should make that one of the non-negotiables before thinking of marrying.

Who are you his wife? It was a joke, get over it and go to a woman thing and clean or cook.

Dude, I could talk circles around you about football. My husband says he is the only man he knows who has to fight his wife for the sports page. And I spend my Saturdays watching football and leave the cleaning to the maid

So are you going to the game or not? Scared to go it alone? Man up - and quit blaming your friends wife!
