I'm curious if you guys change up your tactics much for youth hunts. I'm torn between setting up blind in the area I found them or staying mobile. Brought my nephew a few times and sat behind and beside him, trying to keep him still. He swore to me the turkeys that turned at 80 yards and walked away couldn't see or hear him moving to get gun in position.

A true youth under 12 I think a blind is better. Going to be near impossible to keep them still if you are not sitting with them. Depends on how your turkey population is also, if you have a bunch on private land that first weekend can almost be a guarantee and you can just see with them.

Can't really hunt them the same with kids. You have to just decide a turkey is going to be in an area and try to call him to a spot you can get the kid hidden. I advise against sitting far away from a small child that really hasn't hunted much. You are gonna need to be in their ear giving step by step instructions.

That's pretty much what I've been thinking I'd do. I've got a couple spots we can get to easily and set up. They are always in that area. After that I'd have to be tackling the hills and ravines, don't want to drag her thru all that.
