Anyone have experience with a Yanmar YM1500 tractor? I know they are older, but are they good reliable small tractors?

I've got one of those Vietnamese refurbished rice field tractors (YM 1700 - 21 hp) that is tough as an anvil and very reliable. I wish it was a little bigger, but it does everything I need it to.
Bolt some weight on the front - they'll jump out from under you.

In my opinion, anything Yanmar is the bee's knees

This should speak for the durability:
I was disking food plots one day by myself and on the way out (going too fast) I hit a small washout, turning the tractor over on it's side. Oil was coming out of the side of the motor as I walked away back to the truck. It was late on Sunday, so the tractor laid there for a week until I could come back with a 4 wheeler to pull it back upright the next weekend. Cranked it right up and drove it out of the puddle of oil the ground.
Don't know how true, but was told that John Deere tractors have Yanmar engines.

Yes. My father has had one for 25 years and still runs great... no problems at all with it... 10 years ago we broke down the engine to clean it (idk why cuz it ran fine) and it looked great... hydraulics work just fine... we still use it today to mow his property... strong little tractor
2 thumbs up

They mfg a lot of compact tractor brands.
It is not a bad tractor and a little mule.
I use to sell them and they were fairly reliable and easy to repair.

You can get parts at Hoye tractor .com. Yanmar did make johndeere tractors. Be careful with the pto. Japanese made yanmars have two or three speed pto. Only the low speed is 540rpm
