Looking for the best mechanic in the Shreveport area for Yamaha Outboards. Motor in question is a 2005 225hpdi. Not asking about best price just looking for the guy who doesn't dick around.

Before the questions are asked for the reason I am looking at buying a 2005 Ranger Z20 and the guy who owned it has not run the boat in 4.5 years. I have not found out yet how well he preserved the engine before storing it. I am looking to have someone go through it with a fine tooth comb and tell me everything it will take to fix it before I even think of purchasing it. The boat is extremely clean except for this dilemma. He also had to replace the power head and the new one has less than 50 hours he said it was warrantied, and has not said why it was replaced yet.

Call Kevin Parker at Caddo Lake Marine. He's not the quickest turnaround, but does great work.

No offense but I am not looking for quick turnaround. I am looking for the most thorough inspection I can get.

H&W marine in Bossier City. All of their skeeters have Yahama motors. Their mechanics should be able to help you out.

If you don't mind the drive, you won't find a better engine guy than EK's Marine in Monroe. great work and should be a decent turnaround time unless he's swamped.

I've burned my bridges with damn near every boat mechanic within a 100 mile radius of Shreveport. Every single one will get you for a couple extra hundred if they can.

The day Travis Marine went out of business, I was like the middle easterners you see dancing in the streets with AK-47's after a beheading.

Walt Adams is the GO TO guy around here from what I understand.

Check Ultimatebass in the Louisiana section for recs on him and possible contact info.

That is mainly what I grew up with. This is just one of those deals where if true I can't pass.
