Are you going to fish with Daryl? I know him. He should have no problem putting y'all on fish. The biggest problem will be to find other fish then red snapper. Those suckers are supper thick out there to were you can chum them up to the surface. That is when you pick out the one you want to keep. Its' like fishing at Tony's seafood market.

I see his rate is $1200 for 6 ppl. Is that a pretty standard rate? I've never done anything like that. Also, are there any charters like this that can do larger parties (8 or 10)?

Most boats along the coast only have "6 Pack" Tages which means that they can only have 6 paying people onboard. Now the boat can also have 10 other non paying people onboard at the same time.

$1200 is a bit steep just to snapper fish, but that is the going rate. Some boats charge that plus fuel cost. Then you have your tip for the deckhand.

yeah that's basically the going rate. Like mentioned above, some charge fuel on top of that.

The guys I'm going with have used him before and always catch very well. He gives you the option to go further out for more fish after everyone limits out if all passengers agree to pay the extra gas.

Not so with USCG, if you pay to ride you are a paying part of the charter. It has nothing to do with fishing.

If you give the Capt a sammie, you have made a "payment" to ride...

If your non-paying fine, but who rides for free....
