Once it warms up, get a bro, put two kayaks in a truck, drive up to Clinton, drop off a truck at Comite river crossing of Plank Road, turn left in Clinton and launch on Hwy 10, paddle to the other truck. Lots of fishing in between.

Was this after a rain? I've thought about doing this a few times (growing up about a mile from the Comite in Ethel), but it always seemed to be really low water. Seems like you'd have to get out of the yak and walk a bit. Let me know, I'd love to do it in the future, but don't want to get stuck out there!

Over behind Petco on Siegen is a nice lazy river that eventually dumps into the bayous.

Best kayaking map in Baton Rouge. It lists all the waterways and places to launch. Thes guys have done a great job clearing many of the waterways inside the city limits.

I grew up in Baker. Made that float many a time, along with the leg btw Plank and Pride-Port Hudson Rd, and on down to Deerford. Really a nice float. Certainly a few pull overs, log jams, snags, but great fishing and no humanity. I'd wait til it warms up a bit, maybe March. Beetle spins, crawfish lures, ultralight tackle. We always did it in a two man canoe.
