put over 120 miles on the water yesterday from Rigolets marina. Went into Catherine and was hit with 30 mph straight line winds. We barely made it to Unknown pass.
Went into the intracoastal andheaded towards chalmette. Stopped in a few marsh spots along the way and picked up several specs, reds.
Nothing to write home about.
Decided late to head all the way back east. Went all the way to the east Pearl. Ended up heading north into the East Pearl and found the most beautiful water up there. Got on the specs and reds hot and heavy for about an hour thiil we were forced to leave because one of the guys in our boat had to get home for a prior engagement.
So here's your info. We put in the time and money to scout and ended up finding em late. There's an awesome little launch there by the bridge on the east pearl where a kayaker could easily get to the fishing spots there to the south of the bridge.

Saturday- hauled my bow up damn near to where I was perched in my lock on, bow untethers itself and plummets to the ground. I retrieve bow and continue to hunt. See no deer, about 9am I decide to seal the fate of a fat raccoon before climbing down. Attempt to draw bow only to have it explode in me hands. Good times.

Since I posted int he MJ delete thread I'll share my results here:
Woke at 4 am to get the house ready for baby's first birthday and noticed my GSP pacing.
Nothing like your dog giving birth in the shop while you have a bunch people at your house
5 females and 2 males

We got down to the marsh camp on Friday afternoon just to catch the sunset. Tossed up some BBQ shrimp and French bread.
Woke up Saturday to near perfect conditions: light winds, falling tide. Messed around West Timbalier picking up a few small trout and reds. Hit a well head and saw a funny looking sight on top of the water: a nice triple tail. he went down but we waited him out and when he appeared, I was able to hit him on the head with a matrix shad. He hit the net in short order.
Then we worked our way west and got on a spectacular bite. Nothing but pigs. My biggest was a 24" hawg that I released. We left them biting to catch the game and because the ice chest was full.
funny thing was that 10 people declined to come on the trip. Suckers!!

Doves were thick yesterday, but brought a friend who has never hunted. He probably shot a whole box and never hit one
Finished with 10 but could've shot my limit in no time by myself, but it was fun nonetheless. Also got a nice 8 pt on camera, hopefully I can get in a tree soon and stick something

Had to drive up to Oxford and clean out an apartment, lost a damn good friend way too soon, 22 years young. Duck blind is gonna seem awfully quiet this year. Rest easy big guy, and save some mallards for the rest of us down here. Y'all hug someone extra tight today
