Would you take this trade?

My grandmother, who I barely knew, gave me a 12ga double barrel shotgun about 5 years ago. It's a side by side btw. One side doesn't fire and the other side has large pits in the barrel. So, I think it's safe to say that this gun is a wall hanger at best. It's a real pretty gun but it's just not safe to shoot. Not even sure if the make and model because it's so old. It appears to be Spanish though.
After participating in the 30-30 thread over the past week, it kinda got me interested in getting one. My landlord has one, '64 Marlin, and he's real big into shotguns. It works and fires like it should. I'm thinking of offering a trade for his 30-30 and my 12ga shotgun. Would you guys do it?

What value does it hold if it doesn't even work?
Eta: I've been told I can put inserts into the barrels and make it a 20ga. But it costs a lot to do that.

Take your gun to Cabell and have them give you more info on it, don't get ripped off by your landlord
