Would you rather have good hunting in your back yard or good fishing?

If you could live in a place that had pretty good deer, dove, small game, and somewhat duck hunting right in your own back yard would you rather live there or a place that was on a nice body of water with great fishing? The houses themselves being pretty much equal. Whatchu got?

You can fish a lot longer than you can hunt...

I'm not much of a hunter or fisherman, but to get this kicked off, I will say fishing.

Easier to just walk out and do after work.
No seasons to worry about.
More spur of the moment. Even if all you have is a cane pole and a cork you can do it. (And of course a Bud Light or an IPA- )

Spot 1- 23 acres in a rural area with lots of support habitat. Spot 2- ~3 acres of lakefront property..

build a 1-2 acre pond if you want to fish in your own yard.

I'd rather fish than hunt and I would rather eat fish than just about anything else.

But given the options, I would have to go with 1. A 2-3 acre pond just isn't that great. I guess I would rather have the land. But given the choice between a large chunk of land or an equivalent boat/camp on GI or in Venice, I'm choosing that all day.

I wish I could. Spot 1 is my current set up. There is actually a 4-5 acre brake on the place but the water table/sandy arse land around there makes it impossible to hold water thru the summer. No way you could build a pond there unless you dropped a lot of coin putting a clay or synthetic liner in it. Spot 2 is closer to town... a move that starting to get pushed on me...

Hunting without a doubt. Fishing is about going and seeing a place, and the new challenge of that specific water. Hunting is about the blood pumping when you catch movement and realize it's a shooter, and the long hours paying off. I would jump on the chance to have a place close enough to sit whenever I wanted.

Fishing by a slim margin. I'm a big fan of sitting on the dock, drinking beers, fishing, and cutting up.

It's awesome. Kid has shot multiple deer before school and made it in on time. I've killed them out of my house and shop. Have a sunflower/dove field every year and a brake that will stack up with woodies and gads a couple times a year. Not sure I can give it up, even though the other place is pretty awesome in it's own right...
