By black market, I am referring to the organized crime on the scale of the alcohol ban during Prohibition.

Personally, I am okay with just owning semiautomatic weapons as a citizen. I do not believe ANY semiautomatic weapon should be banned.

I hold nothing against the ownership of Automatic weapons, but I am curious as to how an effective Black Market of these weapons could be created. Unlike alcohol, automatic weapons are more complicated to create without a manufacturing plant.

Why would automatics be banned? How many legally owned automatics have ever been used in a crime?

Yes. Although the trafficking for drugs is much more apparent in latin american countries.

I assumed most of the AR rifles displayed are semi-automatic.

So in the last 82 years how many legally owned fully automatic firearms have been used in a crime. Because that is the only ones you can outlaw is the legally owned ones.

I wish I knew the answer to your question. I suspect that it is as low as you think it is. I just wish you understood the argument for regulation that you are making by asking the question.

The last stat that I recall would peg that number at 2 deaths in the last 82 years from a legally owned fully auto weapons and one of those was a police weapon.
