Depending on what you got, inflatable should be lighter. The fat tires are better for pulling over sand on beaches

How much of the blame falls on you?

Cheaper, weight and storage would be my guess.

many kayak carts have solid rubber tires and they work fine. . . until you get them in soft terrain and sand.

Ever seen the guys in 4x4's deflate their tires when they traverse sandy areas? inflatable tires on a kayak cart should work much the same way.

Then again, you say its from Harbor Freight. . . so it may just be crap.

funny you should say this...I went on an absolute tirade about the same shite just this past weekend...got a very cheap little wagon to pull behind my lawnmower to haul sticks and shite with small inflateable tires on it...every single time I go to use the shite, at least one is flat...I spent $40 and put tubes in them last summer and now one is fricking flat again...

I seriously am thinking about filling them with some of that expanding foam to see how that works out...
