How successful have you been over the years? I've hunted on BAFB and around Bossier Parish for the past 8 years and seems the deer population has really grown with quality bucks getting better. You feel the same or not?

We used to slaughter the rabbits at flag lake on BAFB when I was a kid with my uncle. Can't hunt out there anymore(I think they store munitions near there now.)

How's it been over there? BAFB had just finished a two year study on deer travel. Stephen F. Austin conducted the study by collaring some bucks and does with GPS. I heard where seveal good bucks were killed when they ranged off the base.

Interesting. My dad tells me that back in the day the local deer population was 'restored' by releasing Wisconsin Blue deer onto BAFB

That was possibly true. The population now is much greater than years ago. Also some pretty big deer (body & horn) have been taken on BAFB. They have had a QDM plan in place the last six years and has paided off. I my self have taken a couple really nice bucks.
