I would never take a head shot while standing on any deer let alone at 140 yards. This guy lacks sense.

I've witnessed something like this before. While running dogs a 6 point ran straight at one of my friends. I guess he was looking at the horns too much, and put a .243 bullet directly through the main beam close to the head. Deer fell down and was flopping and when he walked up to it, the deer got up and hauled arse. I think the dumbass had leaned his gun up against a tree already.

The deer ran back into the drive and came out by another hunter - he didn't fare so well that time and wound up with a 30-30 through the chest.

It looked like a hole had been drilled through the horn, with some splintering on the back side - rack still in tact.

Also, would he be able to see a deer 140 yards away this early in the a.m. I guess it depends on how many trees in his area. He probably shot it bulleying.

Please let me know where you guys run dog hunts and use rifles instead of shotgun so I can make sure I'm at least two states away

Too much "about" and "approximately" in there for my liking

Jimmy can embellish a thing or two. But I don't know that he was exaggerating here or just gave incorrect info that he thought was right. And I doubt he was shooting for the head. That's just where he hit it.

As far as a couple questions...yes, there are 250 pound deer in PC. This probably wasn't one of them, although I wouldn't doubt it was over 200. He probably didn't weigh it.

No, not at 3.5.

No way it's 17.5.

I wonder as well about the "shortly after 6 am" comment.

Aimed for "boiler room".
Hit "horn".
Brilliant.
