That's a fact. They rushed it and effed up royally, but once the issues are taken care of, it's really a great engine. Very strong. Someone mentioned earlier, the majority of the issues were with the earlier years. Maybe mine being an '06 won't have injector issues. Of course, it's almost at 200K, so eventually probably will, but I most certainly got my money out of it, and now I don't have to use it for work anymore.

Yea the later ones were much better, but they couldn't sell a 6 liter diesel anymore no matter what they did. It could have been completely different but if it was a 6.0 it wasn't going to sell.

I know a guy who put 180k hard miles on one before it started having problems, and he didn't even have the egr deleted.

I have a 2007 f250 with the 6.0 that I got in 2011. The previous owner replaced the engine when it broke a rod at 80k. The truck has 114k on it and only 35k on the new engine. I put a new FICM,coolant filter, switched to synthetic oil and ELC coolant and runs like a top. The ECT/EOT deltas are 7 degrees and steady. Its all stock and I plan on keeping it that way.

I see this sometimes but guess I'm luck, 150k with no problems or modifications
