Idk, how about sawtooth oaks?! Hell I can't find them any where!

Probably because you plant trees in the winter/spring not the summer/fall

Mossy Oak Native Nursuries has the sawtooths and a large variety of trees. They are seedlings. Sawtooths grow extremely fast

We have about 300 acres of crp that has sawtooth, nuttall, and water oak. We are about 9 years in I think and the sawtooth are 20-25 feet tall and loaded down every yeafor the last 4-5 years. Problem is they drop at the beginning of bow season and that's it.
We have a bunch of mature nuttalls on the south side of the property that drop all the way through the first part of January. I try to collect the acorns and sprout them because we are about to cut 85 acres of them and we can use them to replant around the new food plots we make. I hate to see those woods go. Some of the prettiest sunrises are the ones where the sun comes up through cypress and nuttall forest that's 80-100 years old. But that's the way it goes. Most are almost to big to go to the mill and prices were good when the contract was sold.
Just wanted to add that sawtooth only live 50-60 years or so. And you will see a die backs and slow growth around 35-40 years. I read that on a qdma blog not long ago. So if your planting for deer don't plant just sawtooth. Diversify your trees and use the sawtooth to make your other trees long and straight from competing with them. In perspective most of the native oaks can live 80-600 years.
