What's wrong with my Indian Hawthorn?

They get plenty of water and the same amount of sun as the group on the other side of my house. However, they look terrible compared to the plants on the other side. Anyone know what's wrong here?

Any cure or will it eventually go away?

It's a pain the arse to completely get rid of. It transfers from spores activated by rain/moisture so you can treat with a fungicide and remove all fallen, affected leaves. Axoystrobin, chlorothalonil , captan are some of the fungicide that do well.

They are some very temperamental plants. A bird can take a whiz on mine and they get sick. I had a lot of leaf accumulation holding moisture at the base, once cleared, they seemed to improve. Don't spray jomax and bleach around them, they will really drop some leaves.

If I leave them be, will this cause them to die? I may just let them go for the year if this disease doesn't kill them

We just pulled up our remaining Hawthorn - it appears (fwiw) that the life span of my plants was about 10 years. Front of our subdivision had similar situation and removed about 80% of them.

Pulle mine after fighting that stuff for years. It doesn't kill them, but it makes them look almost dead.
