Whats the OB's opinion on these depth finders?

Alright guys, I need a depth finder, and the amount of options is quite large (as most of yall know). The depth finder is going on a small older bass boat, that will be used to fish south louisiana along with freshwater lakes for bass, bream, and white perch. I've been looking, trying to decide which one to get, but I am confused on some of the options that the depth finders offer. I would like to get the most for my money(obviously) but without breaking the bank. I've found a few deals and was wondering if yall could enlighten me on what would be a good option. Would like to spend under 350 bucks.
edit: I would like gps and sounder
Here's a raymarine I found for what I think is a great deal.

Another option, also, what is Chirp?

chirp (compressed high-intensity radar pulse) is to sonar what HD was to TV...
almost forgot...need the chirp transducer to get the most out of it...

alright, so Chirp is definitely worth it then

I'm assuming you just want a sounder and not a GPS/sounder combo?

I want sounder and gps
Because they sell units that are just a GPS, or just a sounder, or both.

Right, so I need something that does both.

I just spent 6 months studying these things and I bought the Lowrance HDS Elite 9. Touch screen-chirp-maps- Humminbird offers dual beam which looks pretty good but it's not Chirp.
It's what is most important to you. Some have better maps. Some have Chirp. Some are easy easy to use. Settle on what you want and then wait for a good deal. Buy.
(One reason I went with the one I did is it INCLUDED the Chirp transducer- other models it was separate and that is another 200 bucks)

I have a raymarine dragonfly 4pro.
great little unit. that looks like the bigger version.
google search some of the images that these sub 700 dollar chirp/side scan units are capable of these days. Its incredible.

Alright awesome, I can get the raymarine dragon fly 4pro for about 259, or I can get the one I listed for 299.
Also, what all do these units come with? Do I have to buy the transducer seperate? or is it included?

You sure that is what you bought? Lowrance makes an HDS 9 and and Elite 9, but no HDS Elite 9.
ETA: did you mean HDI?

Check out the Hook series from Lowrance. You can get chirp plus navionics without paying for features you may not need.

the one you linked does come with a transducer. you will have to mount it to your boat
the dragonfly 4pro has a wireless feature that lets you send the chirp image to a tablet/smart phone...

I wouldn't buy anything that wasn't CHIRP. Period.

Alright, somebody mentioned the hook series from lowrance, what is the difference between the hook series and the elite hdi?
update: just did some reading and seems like the hdi is the older model to the hook, and the hook offers chirp. Is this correct?

Yes the HDI is an older model before CHIRP. Get the Hook.

I've owned Lowrance and Humminbird units, but IMO, Garmin is the way to go. They are all good units, but the Garmin seems to be so much easier to read right out of the box. I can differentiate fish from brush/grass so much better with Garmin units.
