What's the going rate for a steel AR mag?

They used to have reasonable prices (I bought my G17 there) but these new owners are out of their minds with their prices.

I called a couple months ago for a quote on a Shield. They quoted me at $515. $115 over what Bowie's was selling it for.

It wasn't. Other mags were priced similarly.

GI mags like that are aluminum. H&K steel mags are about $50 each though, USMC gifted me a couple of them.

I used to trade my home brewed moonshine to Josey Wales for sackfulls of metal mags.

I had no idea my moonshine was that expensive?

I wonder if those are the old USA steel mags from the 90s era. The consistency of their failure rate was not an admirable feature.

They are issued in some units that GPC them.
