What variety of pecan tree to plant?

I want to plant a few (3-4) pecan trees on some land we plan to build a house on in roughly 5 years.
A quick search and found this LSU Ag
I know they recommend at least one early pollen shedding and one late pollen shedding, anyone know any of the better varieties to plant?

Elliot and Cape Fear are both very good pecans. That's what I have and they produce well. Another good variety is the Stuart.

The little wild pecans taste best to me.

Pecan is a good tree for an orchard, for a homesite, not so much. Dropped limbs, flowers, leaves. Get some professional advice.

Not sure what area of the state youre in but my area is littered with them from one end of the parish to the other. Also this isn't a 80'x100' subdivision lot, roughly 2 acres.

I hope your future neighbors come over and ask "are you citica, from the OB?"

I hope not, I don't need my wife's family knowing about my internet life.

Pecan trees do stop producing nuts after a certain age. It may just be they're too old.
