Yosemite can get crowded but hiking up Half Dome is seriously amazing.

Yes. Im not a huge fan of Yosemite because of the crowds.
We would go the first week of June. Our plan would be to spend our time on trails out of the valley. I went for a 2 night trip in April a few years back, amidst an early spring snow the night before, so it was a down weekend and the valley was still crowded.

In order of my favs to the ones I've been too:
-Yosemite
-Sequoia
-Yellowstone
-Grand Tetons
-Joshua Tree
-Blue Ridge Parkway
An area that's pretty cool but isn't a national park is State Route 99 in California's Central Valley. I drove from Fresno to Bakersfield and the amount of crops and farms along that stretch is absolutely surreal. Literally 100 miles of row crops. CA produces 50% of the nations fruits and veggies.
