Anybody know what is the largest size propane tank I can legally transport on a trailer? I have a 120 gallontank I want to go get filled while I’m waiting on the gas company to come fill my 250 gallon tank.

As long as it's no more than 8 feet wide, I don't see why you can't haul something as big as your trailer will accommodate

I believe 500kg or more requires placard/hazmat endorsement, etc

This.
Contact LSP Hazmat ESU group and ask the size restrictions. If you get caught hauling something that should have a placard, but does not, they will fine you good.
